St. Luke's Hospital **closed door event**
In 2023, the Singapore Symphony Group (SSG) launched a new partnership with St. Luke’s Hospital. This partnership represents the orchestra’s first venture into the healthcare sector and forms part of its broader music and engagement efforts – lending new avenues to how performative arts can intersect with healing and community care. Facilitated by musicians of the SSO, the closed-door programme brings an interactive performance to the hospital at no cost, offering a carefully curated repertoire of old-time favourites such as Tian Mi Mi, Que Sera Sera and Burung Kakak. Alongside the music, patients and staff are encouraged to participate through music and movement exercises guided by a facilitator. A roving performance component was also introduced for the palliative ward, where musicians performed at patients’ bedsides – offering comfort, dignity, and emotional support in an intimate setting. Designed with both rehabilitation and general wellbeing in mind, the initiative aims to benefit not only patients but also healthcare workers by offering respite in an often-demanding environment. Through this, the SSG continues to demonstrate how music can extend beyond the concert hall to support, connect, uplift and transform communities. The next session will take place in September 2026, marking the continuation of this meaningful partnership.

Woodlands Health Campus, Tower E, Level 1 Auditorium
The partnership between the Singapore Symphony Group (SSG) and Woodlands Health (WHC) emerged from a shared belief in the power of music to reach communities in meaningful ways. Unlike previous outreach efforts, this initiative marked SSG’s first public performance in a community healthcare setting. Recognising the growing importance of mental wellbeing, the performances seek to incorporate elements of Social-Emotional Learning, inviting audiences to reflect, recognise, and process their emotions through music. Much like most of SSG’s family concerts, WHC’s performance repertoire is designed with accessibility in mind — easy-listening and friendly entryway into classical music. Musicians help curate familiar works that will resonate, offering audiences a semblance of the concert-going experience while remaining sensitive to the setting. Through this partnership, the SSG hopes to find musical synergy with new communities.
